Lots of ways to run, heh.
I run my dog in agility, but that's only about 90 minutes a
year. The training also involves a lot of running - mostly
dashes for both of us.
Off leash parks (at least the huge ones here) involve a lot of
running on her part.

Can't use a Springer device here - they're classified as a leash
and there's no bicycling with a dog on leash (some idiots like
to run puppies for miles at 35degC). There are some off-leash
parks with bike trails and I see plenty of off leash dogs
hanging with their biking owners - but you have to be really
careful of the weekend warriors who like to see how fast they
can go on the trails before they kill something or themselves
(don't care much about the latter).

Wow! Reverse here, no unleashed dogs (except in special parks, none of
which are close enough to me to be useful). Includes bikes I am told by my
neighbors. There's a felllow a few blocks from me with a recumbant bike.
His dog (mixed, large breed, seems part lab with longish hair) runs along
behind. Chatted with him a week ago about it but he didn't train the dog to
it. He's a rescue and came to him trained. (Prior owner forclosed house
and had to give up the dog because couldnt feed him so found him a good
home). >> Stay informed about: Running your dog. |

Actually I used to have a second bike but I freecycled it to a person when
we got back stateside. Fellow needed it to get to and from work, grocery
shopping, etc. It was my relief bike in Japan for when the main Cultech was
in the shop for maintenance. Not a bad bike, but not the same level of
shock absorber and such. Yes, it would have fit the springer.
If I were to get another bike, it would be a 3 wheel recumbant. Very
suitable for my situation. Just like the guy down the street from me has. >> Stay informed about: Running your dog. |
